About the role:

The chartering manager will play a pivotal role in Nova’s expansion in the Middle East. Nova has already built a presence over recent years and wants to further increase its position. The chartering manager will come with his own book and will use Nova’s existing fleet and contracts to further expand on that.

Responsibilities: 

  • Expand presence in the Handy/Supramax segments the in Middle East.
  • Calculate and price shipping contracts.
  • Negotiate and fix charter parties.
  • Maintain existing and develop new relationships with clients, brokers, agents, owners and charterers.
  • Closely follow the performance of voyages and work closely with the Operations Department.

Candidate requirement:

  • Chartering experience is imperative.
  • Experience on the Handy and Supramax trades is preferred.
  • Be self-motivated and independent, but able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Have a commercial mindset combined with good interpersonal skills.
  • Be reliable, proactive and professional.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to travel internationally.
