Acquisition of Maja Group in Partnership with German Group Aug. Bolten and Spanish Company Ership.

Nova Marine Carriers, the shipping and logistics group based in Lugano and controlled by the Romeo and Gozzi families, has acquired, in a joint venture with Aug. Bolten (of which Nova Marine is already a shareholder) and the Spanish company Ership (a top-tier player in terminal management), the entire share capital of Maja Stuwadoors Groep BV. This acquisition grants full control over the bulk terminal and warehouses at the Port of Amsterdam. The Vlothaven terminal, with a draft of 11.50 meters and a 215-meter-long quay, is well-suited for open-air storage of various types of bulk cargo.

Maja Stuwadoors Group, founded in 1972, is managed from its headquarters in Amsterdam and operates in stevedoring, loading/unloading, and storage services.

The entry of new shareholders, who are taking over from the Holleman family—the previous owners—marks a turning point for the Dutch group while maintaining continuity. The group is structured into the companies Maja Stuwadoors, Maja Storage, and Maja Equipment.

Nova owns and manages, through its subsidiary Nova Marine Carriers SA, based in Lugano, Switzerland, a fleet of over one hundred modern bulk carriers. It specializes in bulk transportation and logistics across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Middle East, as well as in Italian/European coastal shipping. Nova has long-standing partnerships with the Spanish company Ership (operating in over 40 ports across the Iberian Peninsula, Africa, and South America) and with Aug. Bolten, in which Nova holds a 50% stake.

“The transaction finalized in the Netherlands,” emphasized Vincenzo Romeo, CEO of Nova Marine Carriers, “is part of a well-defined strategy for development in the logistics and port sectors. This strategy aims to further integrate transport and logistics services, striving for an all-included offer that truly achieves door-to-door solutions in the bulk sector.”
